GLASSPEC industrial products are not a collection of off-the-shelf items, but rather a manufacturing service to create products to match our customers' requirements. Whether to make a one of a kind item, to supply components to an O.E.M. client, or a finished product made under a private label, Glasspec welcomes the opportunity to discuss your requirements.

Collaborating closely with our clients, we can bring to bear our knowledge of the raw materials and processes available to best meet their product criteria. As such, all these products are "custom-made" and are not catalogued. Following, is a partial list that illustrates the variety of applications:

  • Large tubs used to deposit and transport harvested fruit using a water displacement method to reduce damage;
  • Enclosures to house large diesel powered irrigation pumps, to protect them from weather and vandalism;
  • Pads, two feet square by 1 1/2" thick, to serve as support platforms for the stabilizing outriggers on crane equipped trucks;
  • Modular enclosures to encircle electrical equipment at transfer stations, requiring resistance to salt air and non-conductivity;
  • Belt/gear guards for heavy machinery;
  • Water storage tanks for single family homes in the islands;
  • Bathtubs for the elderly and infirmed;
  • Covers for wall mounted A/C units;
  • Utility carts for food trays delivery at hospitals;
  • Forms to pour concrete into, at building sites;
  • Decorative fixtures used as architectural ornaments in buildings;
  • Aerodynamic components for over-the-road trucks and trailers;
  • Electric cart bodies;
  • Seats for mass transit buses and trains;
  • Molded pieces to replace assemblies in various applications;
  • Vending machine cabinets;
  • Vent covers for large roof exhaust fans;
  • Components for casework for school laboratories;
  • Swimming pool equipment enclosures.

Some of these we currently make under contract. We have the capability to make prototypes and production molds in house. We will assist you in the design and development of the item to be manufactured, we evaluate what you are trying to accomplish, including the type of surface finish, color, chemical and electrical properties, resistance to weather exposure, temperature extremes, corrosive environments, expected volume and other factors and will make recommendations as to the type of tooling, manufacturing process, additives, type of laminate and reinforcements.

Molded fiberglass products lend themselves to short runs and even one of a kind parts, due to low tooling costs which usually represent a small portion of the total product cost. Fiberglass as a raw material, makes possible the manufacture of products with inherent characteristics, that are simply not available from metal or wood. The ability to form complex shapes into a single piece, makes it possible to consolidate and replace assemblies of several metal parts, simplifying inventories and reducing labor costs.

Budget figures can be arrived at early on, after a brief exchange of information including product descriptions, dimensions, expected results and, if it is to be a replacement for an existing product, photos and drawings. The call is free, the consultation is free, the preparation of a budget is free, so you have nothing to loose and a lot to gain.

Go ahead, make the call.
